The major objective of this course is to provide a basic conceptual and theoretical foundation of urban system and a holistic approach on the policies of urban planning and development.

·explain the concepts, approaches and significance of urban systems discuss the theories and models of internal structures of cities and urban system illustrate the process of urbanization and the challenging issues analyze the contemporary urban policies and their applications |
