APNC 41023 Sri Lankan Planning Process and Practices

Objectives
- To introduce the existing planning system in Sri Lanka
- To provide a broader understanding of the institutional framework at various
levels in Sri Lanka
- To introduce the spatial planning policies relevant to the national, regional and
local level in Sri Lanka
- To introduce the planning process adopted at various levels for planning
preparation
- To explain the system of local governance in place for development and service
management

Assessment Methods
- 60% marks will be given for semester examination which will be held at the end
of the semester
- 40% will be given for in-course assessments which include tutorial writing,
